Gap filling
Gap filling fills the gaps between the individual parquet strips.
Resin made with the floor’s own sawdust
The gap-filling resin is mixed with the fine sawdust left from sanding. The mixture fills the gaps, and once it has dried the parquet is sanded smooth.
Resin or acrylic silicone
Resin is only used on parquet and floorboards that do not move. In every other case we use acrylic silicone: it lets the strips move without crumbling, and it can be sanded and lacquered.
Unlike resin, though, silicone clogs the sandpaper during sanding – which is why the procedure costs more.
